- Rocket Remixes
Goldfrapp is on a whole new health kick. After drinking down their breakfast smoothie of Olivia Newton-John and Hall & Oates, they take their purple Van Halen “Jump” pills and don spandex and sweatbands for an hour long work out with Jane Fonda. They must be getting fit for Xanadu. “Rocket” is the duo’s propulsive new single that’s a glorious rush of synth euphoria from their new and 5th LP Head First out March 9th. With breathy fantasy, Alison Goldfrapp sings about taking you on her rocket and never letting you come down. It’s the kind of song that makes you feel like there’s a wind machine running through your hair or you’ve just eaten a Peppermint Pattie. The remixes are absolute giddy good fun. Tiesto turns out seven plus minutes of pure disco anthem pleasure. Richard X, Penguin Prison and Grum all stab and succeed at glittering, swirly, splashed-out, high 80’s pumpers.

The Rocket remixes are :

Tiesto Remix

Richard X Eight Four Remix

Richard X One Zero Remix

- About new single and album
Genre-smashing musical pioneers Goldfrapp announce their brand new album 'Head First', to be released through Mute on 22nd March 2010. This will be preceded by the fantastic new single 'Rocket’ on 8th March.
‘Head First' is Goldfrapp's most powerful trip to date, a speedy rush of synth optimism, euphoria, fantasy and romance. With life affirming lyrics and stellar production it lifts off at full tilt and takes us on a journey to the heart of 2010.
The duo's fifth album, 'Head First' is written and produced by band mates Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory and was recorded throughout 2009 in Bath and in London.
Fizzy with inspiration, the brand new single ‘Rocket’ is a goose-bump brilliant tune destined to float out of radios across the land.
The diversity, ambition and direction of the new album highlights Goldfrapp as true agenda-setters and modern British musical icons. ‘Head First' follows the critically acclaimed ‘Seventh Tree’, which saw the NME describe Goldfrapp as ‘having done the seemingly impossible and become even more fantasy fabulous’ and as ‘sublime, anthemic pop’ by The Independent. 'Head First' is the latest in a brilliantly consistent body of work - from the captivating electronic balladry of Mercury nominated debut 'Felt Mountain' and its distorted-dancefloor follow-up, ‘Black Cherry' to the glitterball glamour of ‘Supernature’ which came out in summer 2005 and went on to sell over a million copies worldwide.
Goldfrapp will take 'Head First' on tour later in 2010 - following the massive acclamation for both the Supernature and Seventh Tree tours and festival appearances around the world, Goldfrapp have underlined their reputation as one of the most transcendent and inventive live bands around.

- Goldfrapp to score John Lennon biopic
Goldfrapp have announced that they are set to score the film for the upcoming biopic about John Lennon.

Based on the book 'Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon' by his half sister, Julia Baird - the film is about Lennon's childhood and adolescence.

"We have written the score for a film called "Nowhere boy". It's about John Lennon as a boy." Wrote Alison Goldfrapp on her bands' blog.

"It’s truly amazing that they gave us the oppotunity to do this. We are all really excited about going to Abbey Road studios [The studios where The Beatles recorded most of their studio material] soon to record the strings with the full orchestra." She added.

As for the next Goldfrapp album - a follow up to 2008’s 'Seventh Tree' - she also gave a quick update on how it was going.

"Now our work on the film is almost finished, we will carry on writing the Goldfrapp album."

'Nowhere boy', which features Kristin Scott Thomas and screenwriter Matt Greenhalgh - who wrote the script for the Joy Division film 'Control', will premiere on October 29 as part of the London Film Festival.

- Winter Wonderland
A new Goldfrapp track, Winter Wonderland, is featured on a new eponymous Starbucks compilation, available via the Starbucks online shop.

The track Winter Wonderland, is a cover of the famous Christmas song Winter Wonderland, which was first published in 1934. The composer was Felix Bernard (1897-1944) and the lyricist was Richard B. Smith (1901-1935). Probably the most popular versions of this classic Christmas song, Winter Wonderland, were recorded to high acclaim by the Andrews Sisters and Perry Como.
The lyrics of Winter Wonderland have undoubtedly contributed to the magical vision of snow at Christmas together with the tradition of building snowmen and therefore turning fantasy into reality by creating a real Winter Wonderland.
