Reviews (Thanks to Boybulge for the pix)

- Oh, What a evening it has been....not only to be smack center in the middle of the stange to see this most intense concert....but after the show I was able to meet Alison and get and autograph...I will post pics and
talk about the show in a post tommorow but I just had to share my experience with everyone!!!!!!!!!!
(boibulge from the official forum)

- Ok, I'm going to begin this as simply as I can as my head is going at the impetus of a speeding bullet right now. This was one of the top 5 best concerts I have ever seen. My neck aches, my throat is no longer functioning and I have a severe headache and I've never felt better! You guys have no idea what I just witnessed. Before I waste any more time, here was the setlist for those who don't want to read any further:
It was an interesting night, it started off weird then became exceptional. My bf and I both had class all day,
and by the time we were done with class, I had just enough time to run to the laundromat to wash some
clothes so we could look somewhat decent for the gig. I picked up some Jim Beam and ran home to get ready
for the show. We decided to drink a little before the show to pick up our spirits a bit (we were both feeling
quite tired), and then we left. We got there 45 minutes after the doors opened, but the opening band didn't
go on until nine o clock. Billy fell asleep sitting down during the first band, and I went and got another drink because i felt like if I didn't I'd fall asleep as well (the opening band was great, by the way, but a total downer if you're sleepy). Then they went off stage, I woke Billy up, and we meandered to the from of the stage. Goldfrapp didn't take long to come on, it was about ten o'clock when they finally did.
And then it started, everyone felt it, something amazing happened! the whole crowd transformed into a maelstrom of energy, feet shuffled, heads came alive and be-bopped, people screamed, people wailed. Hairy trees was so loud that you couldn't even hear yourself think, Alison was so gorgeous you couldn't take your eyes off of her, the music was more intense than you have ever heard it...and I started crying. It felt like
such an odd thing to do, but i couldn't help it. I was so moved. I was especially moved by the fierce reaction
of the crowd (NYC tends to get a very cool reaction from the crowd, which I find totally rude to the band and flat out annoying), but this was unlike anything else. People knew the songs, people cheered everytime Alison picked up the vocoder mike and wailed beautifully into it. She's like nothing else live, really, she is someone to
be watched, I'll never forget her facial expressions, her posture, her voice, My god, that voice!
Then Deer Stop came...no song live can touch this. I'm sure others may disagree with me, but this song
affects me like few others do. I spent a great deal of time trying to explain this to Billy, but i couldn't. This
song just moves me in a certain way so that it transports me to somewhere else, even when I play it at
home, it's automatic-when its on I can't focus on anything else. And live was certainly no exception. Her
voice was so rich, so pure, and when the song hit its climax and she swung back and forth and back and
forth to get that odd vocal effect (after "shoot your star over me...") I was again crying, but it didn't stop
until they had moved into Tiptoe.
I have written way too much already, so I'm going to stop to spare you guys. If there alre any details you'd
like to hear, ask me and I will be glad to share them, I just don't want to bore you anymore with this unnecessarily long post.

- Me and my crew were front row of the stage. Allison is gorgeous up close and in living color. Her voice was fantastic, I just wish they had made her louder in the mix. I got a set list and some quicktime on my nokia video phone of her saying goodbye at the end fo the show- I will post it later. If you get a chance to see Goldfrapp live DO IT!
The NYC audience was really really energized- Allison was a little overwhelmed with emotion at the response I think- it was cool.

- Me and my friends jamie and gary went and saw Goldfrapp at Irving Plaza last night and we had the time of
our lives. The crowd forming outside was pretty laid back and we had to be there just 1 hour before the time
on the ticket to garantee ourselves front row center! I couldnt beleive it. They had a great opening act called BROOKSVILLE or something, it was much better than most opening acts I've seen.
I had just started getting into Goldfrapps music with their latest album but didnt know I liked them already
with the lead track from the film' swept away'.
This was the first time seeing goldfrapp for me and I had no idea what to expect.
Around 1030pm Alison takes the stage wearing all black with dramatic eye 'black' make up that gave the
illiusions that she was crying black tears..The crowd was loving it, the show,..
They did an amazing set list of all their best tracks, it was mostly all straight up album versions of the songs
but alison had great stage presence and was enjoying herself.
They did 2 encores and The last song was black cherry..I'd love to have this particular night on cd, if
anyone else was there, and recorded it, email me.
Not only did the show blow us away but afterwards Alison was generous enough to stop and sign for autographs! All I have to say is I cant wait till they pull out a new album and hopefully the U.S. will start
to take notice of this group more, they deserve it.
